Empowering Over 110 Women Through Entrepreneurship and Practical Skills Development in Turkana County
Yamoi Women Enterprise Initiative, in partnership with Ujuzi Dada, concluded a three-day entrepreneurship and practical skills development programme in Turkana County, engaging over 110 women.
The programme was designed to equip women with practical knowledge and marketable skills that can help them create sustainable livelihoods and strengthen household incomes.
Throughout the three days, participants took part in interactive entrepreneurship discussions focused on identifying business opportunities, understanding local markets, and developing small enterprises within their communities.
These sessions encouraged women to think creatively about the resources available to them and how they could be transformed into viable income-generating ventures.
The practical component of the programme provided hands-on training in value-added production, including soap production and mandazi preparation. Participants learned production techniques alongside key business concepts such as product quality, costing, pricing, and customer expectations.
Beyond the technical skills, the programme created an environment where women could exchange ideas, learn from one another, and build confidence through collaboration.
This engagement reflects Yamoi’s commitment to empowering women through entrepreneurship, skills development, and community-driven economic empowerment.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Ujuzi Dada for their partnership and shared commitment to expanding opportunities for women. We also thank every participant whose dedication and engagement contributed to the success of the programme.
As Yamoi continues to work with communities across Kenya, we remain committed to creating opportunities that enable women to build enterprises, improve livelihoods, and contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.
